BLOOM by Ryan Lewis

Autumn Newsletter 2021

The shift has been made from Summer to Autumn but despite the drop in temperature and the enormous amount of rain we’ve had I’m really excited about what’s to come – bulb planting, Halloween (pumpkins) and the build up to Christmas are just a few things that spring to mind.

Flower Farm & Pumpkins

On the farm, the production of blooms on the flower field is slowing but I hope we can continue to stock the farm stand with home grown blooms for a few more weeks to come just yet, although once the frost kicks in that’s it. Beyond this we’ll continue to stock the farm stand with British and imported blooms, other seasonal goodies, honey and eggs. Behind the scenes, I’ll be working on preparing the flowerbeds for 2022. There’s lots of weeding and mulching ahead and I also have several thousand bulbs to be plant along with lots of new hedging, trees, shrubs and lots more perennial plants too.

In the pumpkin patch, the pumpkins are looking great and we’ll start harvesting these soon. This year we have lots of gorgeous pumpkins ranging from the traditional orange jack-o-lantern types right through warty types, white pumpkins, gourds and more interesting and culinary types. Pumpkins will be available from the farm stand from the 16th October until we’re sold out.

Studio Update & Christmas Workshops

The Bloom Studio is very nearly finished now - just a little bit more interior cladding to do and a sink to install and we’re good to go! The studio has already proven invaluable for this years weddings but I’m really excited to move in properly and create a whole schedule of workshops throughout 2022 for you to enjoy! If there’s anything you’d be interested in learning or taking part in feel free to pop me a message and we can discuss it further.

For this year though, I’m very excited to be able to invite you down to the farm for our Christmas wreath making workshops starting in late November this year. Being able to host workshops on the farm is super exciting and I really cant wait to create a beautiful festive environment in which we can create some truly beautiful and individual wreaths while enjoying a few minced pies and mulled wine! All of the dates are on website along with details of how to book - simply click the 'Workshops' tab for more info. If you’d like to book a works do or a large private party for a wreath making class during the week please do get in touch.
